8502-BI- Bus Interface Module (DP) The BIM provides a communication link between the 8000 series I/O modules and the A profibus -DP host. It collects data from modules at high speeds while the LAN operates at speeds up to 6mbaud, allowing the host to respond quickly to conditions during control.

The 8502 supports parameterization from the Profibus host. This is configured on a "per module" basis, that is, all channels on one channel module carry the same configuration.
