　　The IC698RMX016 is a redundant Memory switch module (RMX) for the PACSystem RX7i programmable automation controller family. The module is primarily used as a node on reflective memory, or as a memory link between partner central processing unit (CPU) modules that form redundant pairs in highly critical applications. The module is installed in the chassis of the RX7i backplane and is recommended to be installed in rack 3 or 4 to enable interrupt priority, however, the module also supports other slots in the chassis.

　　The IC698RMX016 comes with 16 MB of static dynamic random access memory (SDRAM). The module is powered by 5 VDC and 1.8 amps from the backplane. The module measures 6.299 inches (width) x 9.187 inches (height). The available connectors for redundant memory switch modules are LC type optical fiber connectors according to IEC 61754-20. The connector material is zirconium ceramic ring with a maximum insertion loss of 0.35 DB and return loss of -30 DB.
