5464-658 is a digital speed sensor module.

The 5464-658 digital speed sensor module requires no additional signal conditioning or calibration, simplifying maintenance and reducing complexity. It is designed to provide accurate speed measurements 

without the use of potentiometers or the need for frequent calibration adjustments. This ensures long-term reliability and minimizes potential errors or deviations in speed measurements.

Speed sensor input

Read the MPU and approach probe input and provide speed to the application. Application software provides derivative output if required. The Analog Combo module filters the speed sensor input, and the 

filtering time constant can be selected between 8 ms or 16 ms by an application software program.

For most applications, 8 milliseconds is sufficient. For very slow applications, it might take 16 milliseconds. The maximum speed that the module will detect is determined by the speed range. The control output 

of the software will detect a minimum speed of one-fiftieth of the speed range.

This can detect faulty speed sensors, which helps prevent overspeed due to slow update times at very low speeds.
