NI-9853 is a new high-speed controller LAN interface module designed specifically for its high-performance CompactRIO platform.
The module has two CAN interfaces, each equipped with a 9-pin male DSUB connector for easy connection to the CAN bus. The CAN_H and CAN_L pins on its ports are dedicated to connecting
CAN bus signals, which should be connected using twisted pair cables.
Key features of the NI-9853 module also include its port design, with each port having two common pins (COM) that are internally connected to the isolated reference points of the module and
used as reference points for CAN_H and CAN_L. In addition, each port has an optional shielded pin (SHLD) for connecting shielded CAN cables in noisy environments, enhancing signal integrity and EMC performance.
