8502-BI- Bus Interface Module (DP) The BIM provides a communication link between the 8000 series I/O modules and the A profibus -DP host. It collects data from modules at high speeds while the LAN operates at speeds up to 6mbaud, allowing the host to respond quickly to conditions during control.
BIM collects data from I/O modules and makes them available at the owner's request. It's a slave to the Profibus mainframe. As well as cyclic data exchange, which is necessary to read the input BIM supports Profibus Extended, which supports writing diagnostic status information to the output data. It also supports a number of special features that have been implemented to allow for high integrity system operation and field maintenance.
