The MVI56 PROFIBUS DP-V1 master network interface module allows the ControlLogix processor to easily communicate with slave devices that support the PROFIBUS DP-V0 and DP-V1 protocols. The module acts as an input/output module between the PROFIBUS network and the processor, supporting the complete master station specification according to IEC 61158.
Characteristics and advantages
The module supports the complete master specification conforming to IEC 61158. Acyclic parameter data can be transmitted via Class 1 or Class 2 DPV1 services, enabling the processor to easily communicate with slave devices that support the PROFIBUS DPV0/V1 protocol.
This module acts as an input/output module between the PROFIBUS network and the ControlLogix processor. The data transfer from the processor is asynchronous with the I/O data transfer on the PROFIBUS network. The database is defined by the user and stored in the module to hold the data required by the protocol.
